Dietitians study the relationship between food and health. They inform and give advice that helps to prevent and treat illness, manage food allergies, maintain a healthy weight, and boost energy and longevity.
Dietitians assist in creating menus that are relevant for the individual and offer clarity when it comes to food knowledge. Clients do not need a referral from a health professional to book an appointment with a dietitian, with the exception of those who seek to fulfil the Department of Veterans’ Affairs requirements. We at Quora Medical & Allied Health are happy to answer questions concerning referrals before patients attend their appointment.
Rebates for dietetics are available through most private health funds. Medicare covers fees for patients on a Chronic Disease Management plan (CDM), and if their GP has put a Team Care Arrangement (TCA) into place. Dietitians can also service DVA Gold cardholders.
